This past Sunday, October 20, I was so happy to attend the Medallion Ceremony at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN and see our friend, James Burton, inducted into the Hall. It was such an incredible evening. James has been my guitar hero since I was a kid. I first met him back in 1971. He was here recording his solo album with my uncle Felton Jarvis. My family and I went to some of the sessions. James stayed with Uncle Felton and Aunt Mary. We got to hang out with him. I loved hearing his stories about his days with Ricky Nelson and of course, Elvis! We played guitars together one day! What a thrill for a 13 year old girl who was in her early days of learning how to play! That meant a lot to me. One of the biggest thrills for me was seeing Elvis perform at Municipal Auditorium in 1973, to see James rocking out with the King, and talking with him after the show. James and his wife Louise were good friends with Aunt Mary and Uncle Felton and came to visit them some in those days. I loved it when they were here.
The last time I saw James before his induction Sunday night was August 31, 2017 when he, Norbert Putnam, David Briggs, and Charlie McCoy were at RCA for a special event celebrating the studio’s 60th anniversary.
That was such a great night, there were some Felton stories, he was there in spirit! I was thrilled to be at James’ induction into the Hall and to also witness those amazing performances by Elvis Costello, Brad Paisley, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, and the epic appearance by Keith Richards at the end. I was so very happy to visit with James and Louise at the reception afterwards! I am grateful to my longtime friend, Nick Pride, for taking me to the induction Sunday, and also the night at Studio B in 2017.

June 2024
A lot has happened since early yesterday morning.
I posted my newest 2 songs earlier this week, including one inspired by my dear friend, Claude Davis, “Not As Much As God Does.” I have had so much positive response from everyone. All of the songs I have written in recent months are gospel or inspirational. I have enough to record a new album. I have been so blessed to have been able to afford to record and release 5 new CDs in the past 3 1/2 years. But things change, life happens, I have a lot more responsibilities now these past months and money to go in the studio was not even a possibility.
Yesterday, when I was out walking Hollywood, I was praying to God for a door to open so I could record these new songs. I got a phone call a few minutes later from Claude. He said, “Opportunity is knocking.” He wanted to help me get this album done. And he and his wife Evalyn have made it possible for me to be able to do this. Claude has done so much for me through the years. He has always believed in me. I was in tears and told him I had just been praying for something like this to happen.
God answered my prayer. We begin working on the album on Monday, June 17th at my good friend Mike Schrimpf’s studio. The title will be The Gift of Love. We are all very excited about this project! I thank God for continuing to open doors for me at this stage in my life and my career. I look forward to seeing where this takes us!

From Donna:
On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, my beloved dog, my precious companion for almost 10 years, Eddie, passed away here at our home in Hendersonville, TN. He went peacefully, in my arms, in his own time. He had been ill the past week.
Eddie was my heart and soul, as you know and all who follow me on my social media pages know. We had the sweetest, most beautiful life together. He had my heart from the very start the day I saw him at The Humane Society of Sumner County on September 23, 2014. I knew he was going to be my dog. When he stuck his paw through the cage, he sealed the deal. The fact that he was an older dog was not a problem at all for me. He was guessed to be 4 or 5 when we adopted him, which would make him at least 13 or 14. The best 9 1/2 years of my life followed.
He was always by my side. He never let me out of his sight. I loved our long walks together, playing in the sun, and yes even snowy days. He sure loved those. In fact, we were out in the snow this week. Our snuggles on the couch together. Our car rides, he loved those. When I left for the road it was so hard to leave him. He would have such a sad look on his face that tore my heart out. That sad face was a smiling face when I came home! I got lots of love to welcome me back. He loved our family so much, he was so happy when everyone was here. Especially birthdays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most of all, Eddie loved Mama dearly, as she did him. They had a very special bond. She took such good care of him when I would be gone. He missed her so much when she passed away. I know she was waiting for him when he crossed over and that they are having a happy reunion right now. Eddie sure loved his toys, he had lots to play with. He played with them up until he got sick last week. Eddie LOVED fortune cookies. We always brought him some when we went out for Chinese food. He and Sabrina, our cat got along well. She is missing him too.
Eddie was a good sport about wearing sweaters, jackets, costumes. He always looked so handsome in them. He was rocking his adorable Santa suit this past Christmas.
Eddie was the greatest blessing in my life. He was the best dog. How thankful I am for him and our life together. I am grateful for the precious memories I will carry in my heart forever.
Waking up this morning without him here by me is the loneliest and saddest feeling. My life will never be the same.
My heartfelt thanks to everyone who called or texted me, and for all of the beautiful condolences posted on my Facebook and Instagram pages. I am most grateful for your love and support.
Greetings from Hendersonville, TN! Eddie, Sabrina and I want to wish all of you a beautiful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Thank you for all of your support this year! I am so grateful for you, especially this holiday season. We send much love to you and your families and look forward to seeing you at shows around town and on the road!

May 29, 2023: As most of you know, our sweet Samson, who appeared with me on all of my Facebook Live shows from the Humane Society of Sumner County, passed away over the weekend. He made his last appearance on my show this past Friday, May 26, 2023. We did not know at the time it would be the last. I am absolutely heartbroken as are all of Samson’s family at HSSC and his fans all over the country. He was a very special dog who brought a lot of love and joy to everyone he met. He touched many hearts everywhere! The outpouring of love for him on my pages and HSSC’s pages speaks volumes about him. My life is better because Samson was a beautiful part of it. He is forever in our hearts. It will not be the same without him. Run free, Samson. I will see you again one day.
