Music
Donna Frost is a true traveling troubadour, logging thousands of miles year round performing shows in cities all across the US. She has appeared in the UK and the Caribbean as well during her career. She performs solo with her guitars, ukuleles and mandolin most times and also plays select shows with her band.
Donna is a prolific songwriter with over 300 songs in her catalog and 10 albums. 5 of these albums have been written, recorded and released since the pandemic began: The Quarantine Sessions, The Quarantine Sessions Volume 2, Thankful, You Are My Song and the soon to be released The Beautiful Unseen, a collaboration with her longtime friend, Jack Howell, that was recorded in Joshua Tree, CA.
Donna is a nominee for Best Americana Artist for the Mississippi Music Foundation Awards in April 2023. She received Music for Seniors Musician Partner of the Year Award in 2019. Donna has received 11 consecutive ASCAP Plus Awards for her work as a performing songwriter. She was a 2004 Kerrville New Folk finalist.
Acting
In addition to music, Donna acts in theatrical productions, including a starring role as Janis Joplin in “Kozmic Blue” & works as an extra in movies, music videos and TV, including all 6 seasons of the popular series “Nashville” and the new music video by the Black Keys, “Go”.
Giving Back
She is an active performer with Music for Seniors, an organization that provides live music for seniors in various facilities; most are Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. She has also worked for over five years with “Musicians on Call” (performing for patients in hospitals and hospices) and with “Songs of Love” (writing and producing songs for children with life threatening illnesses). She is also very involved with Humane Society of Sumner County and Room in the Inn.
Books
Donna has contributed to two books, “Tales from the Rock and Roll Highway” by Marley Brandt and “The Other Side of Nashville” by Keith A. Gordon. She is currently writing her first book, “Guitars, Ukes and Sequin Boots: My Life in Song”.
Workshops
Donna is also available for ukulele and songwriting workshops in addition to her live performances.
